Thelema Lodge is for

for every man, woman, and child. Many wonderful people have been part of the Bay Area Thelemic Community through its long history, and they have helped to build it into what it is through their simple dedication and hard work. It has also attracted, however, Brothers and Sisters to whom the pursuit of Thelema is a realm meant for an intellectual elite, fitted solely for themselves and those who think like them. To them, the majority of the public are too "middle class", "secular humanist", or "bourgeois" to be able to be able to effectively promulgate the Law of Thelema.

We are dedicated to the original vision of the Master Therion, that every individual has an absolute right to live the life that is uniquely suited to them. He meant for Thelema to be the pursuit of ALL people and not just a select few to carefully keep a low and sheltered flame. For the fire to blaze high and spread the Law across the face of the Earth, the torch must placed in your hands, and not kept in theirs.

Thelema Lodge opens its doors to YOU, the Banker, the Pugilist, the Biologist, the Poet, the Navvy, the Grocer, the Factory Girl, the Mathematician, the Stenographer, the Golfer, the Wife, the Consul --- and all the rest --- to fulfill yourselves perfectly, each to your own proper function. Everyone of sound mind and heart who aspires to the highest through the works of Aleister Crowley will find welcome here.

Thelema Lodge was founded by Frater Hymenaeus Alpha on October 12, 1977 e.v. during an eclipse of the Sun. It is the oldest continuously operating O.T.O. Lodge in the world. Thelema Lodge is maintained today by Hermetic ritualists who celebrate life through the practice of Magick and the philosophy of Thelema as received by Aleister Crowley in 1904 e.v.

Our Lodge offers weekly performances of The Gnostic Mass, the central ritual of the O.T.O., as it has for the last 28 years. We also offers classes on established ritual, elemental ritual, and the fundamentals of creating individual ritual, as well as book events including readings of works essential to the occult genre.
